What's the story?
Strategic communications to build trust, clarify misunderstandings and misinformation, change perceptions, build thought leadership, and drive growth.
As an experienced communications leader and storyteller, Taunya Covington provides clients with training, tools, and support to share their stories with media, industry analysts, opinion leaders, and internal audiences. A few of her favorite storytellers are Lin-Manuel Miranda, Victor Hugo, Malala Yousafzai, Stephen J. Dubner (Freakonomics), and Ira Glass (This American Life).
Prior to launching The Brane Company, Taunya managed Industry Analyst Relations as a member of the Microsoft Corporate PR team. Before Microsoft she directed corporate communications for enterprise software and networking companies, and managed PR agency account teams for Silicon Valley clients. Her approach to achieving results was honed at PR firms in NYC and LA. Early in her career, she developed a creative writing style and interest in engineering and innovation while working with a team of Hollywood writers to research and write about spinning things and flowing water for KCTS-TV's show, "Bill Nye the Science Guy."
Taunya graduated in Communications/PR from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. She provides media campaign strategy and media spokesperson training as Assistant Communication Director for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North America West Area.
